On a Different Scale: What’s Really Happening
January 8, 2021
I’ve read numerous articles on those who entered the Capital last week. Yet all such articles seem targeted at eliciting outrage. Few readers question the psychological warfare they are imbibing as they digest carefully chosen photos and few writers have done more than use the event to paint themselves or their cause as “holier than thou,” with words like “coup or insurrection” or “surely we are better than this.” Countless others are calling for “justice.”
But, which justice? We are living in a time, in a country where Lady justice holds two different scales. Oh yes, some contend the level of justice you receive is dependent on your skin color or economic status and I believe there to be truth to that claim in some courts. That is to say lady justice removes her blind fold and weighs differently for some people.
There is also a second, ultimately graver issue at play. We have two scales. One is based on our founding which was based on the Ten Commandments and the building of a people, a nation with a conscience and character which aspired to things like telling the truth, not coveting what others have, loving the God who created everything, not murdering anyone, not stealing anything that is not yours, wanting what is best for others (love)….
Yet, a completely new set of scales has entered our society, our courts, our education system, our communication systems, our government and those who hold to it are passionate about their cause/s. It even divides families. Parents are forced to chose between their measure of right and wrong, good and bad and that their children have been given in our universities and by the media. Employees are fired for even questioning the new set of scales.
The new scale is impossible to balance. In fact it will never balance because of the source. Chaos is the objective. But I digress or rather progress into the future. Currently, the new scale paints as the highest holy: the absence of racism, the elimination of fossil fuels, the “reset” of the global economy, equity of outcome…. In the new scale, each of these newly deemed holy missions warrants the use of that which is deemed wrong on the other scale. The “end justifies the means.” If the cause is on the approved list (this year) — of course it is fine to lie, hate and steal – even injure, burn, loot and murder. It is for the cause of the climate, the elite, the famous, the powerful, the perverted….
We have two separate measuring scales. They have nothing in common. Their very source is different.
Many are calling for “unity.” The only hope of unity would be for those who still hold to first principles of right and wrong, true and beautiful to abandon their beliefs and join those who use the new (to America) scale. For short of a real awakening, a super natural removal of the blindfold of deception – those who hold to the new principles cannot come over. And it is impossible to compromise and merge the two scales. They have opposite root systems and reach for antithetical destinations.
So what really happened on January 6th? Some entered through open doors. Some fought their way in. Some were just caught up in the crowd. Others were actors who were likely paid to play to the cameras and insure the perfect psy-op image was available to media outlets. Others were needlessly killed. Some used the crowd to create the outcome their cause wanted. One older couple was thrilled the Capital was open and got some really good tourist photos in the hall of statues. Some thought they would get to hear the proceedings. Some destroyed things while others yelled at them to stop. Some of these were attacked. Some took souvenirs. Some had been standing in the cold for days and welcomed the building’s warmth and access to a bathroom. Others weren’t at the rally at all. They came in groups from side streets and went straight to the Capital building during Trump’s talk. (From a first hand account)
Some congress people were shaking and crying while they lie on the floor. Others were texting their disgust for their voters. Others ordered takeout for their staff and called into radio stations. One congressman said, if they had gotten in we would have all been lynched. Likely not. At least not yet.
Some on a guttural level know the scale of justice they hold dear has been stolen. While it is hard to determine the heart of someone from a photo, the very fact camera’s were rolling tells me at least the cameramen were not afraid enough to hide.
What we had that day was a clash of the dueling scales of justice.
More than a year ago, I heard Dr. Kenneth Boa say, “We live in a time and a society where we no longer have a collective moral consensus. The very transcendentals of truth, goodness and beauty have been relativized….” He went on to explain that never before in history has a society existed without a collective moral consensus. I agree. We no longer have a shared sense of right and wrong, good and bad. Even the word truth is defined differently. For some truth has been redefined. They use words like “authentic” or “my truth.” For them being true to oneself is truth – it is relative, situational. Even views of beauty have changed. Destroying the beauty others have created is fine, even encouraged if it serves the cause.
What we had on Wednesday was a skirmish. The two scales lady justice now holds crashed together.
For you see, the pledge of allegiance I recited as a child no longer applies. We are not one nation, we are at least two. Some are under God and others hate them and look down on them for it. We are divided. We no longer have life for all. Liberty is being taken from those who admire, believe in first principles and especially those who adhere to them. Lady justice has two sets of scales and our new rulers seek to destroy the old set.
With the unwillingness to even investigate the deception in the election results — we are also no longer governed, we are ruled. Thomas Jefferson understood that the power wielded by those inside the chamber, comes only from the consent of the governed.
What many were trying to say on Wednesday was — without a true (in the original sense of the word) election, you no longer have our consent.
Do the math. Without the consent of the masses, you can’t rule.
Nothing short of a gargantuan holy miracle will save us.
Lastly, if you are among the happy warriors who love God and hold to first principles – those given to us by our Creator, stay happy. The enemy finds it annoying.
